There's a saying going around these days....She's "a little extra". He's "a little extra". This is not always a compliment. But in the case of this little mini triptych, it is a good thing. When I started painting this, it was crisp sunny Sunday afternoon on the patio. I had my paints out and  the music was playing a random selection. George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord" and Steely Dan's "Any Major Dude" (what does that song even mean?) were inspiring a positive and experimental vibe. 
I wanted to give the sides of the canvases a little extra design inspired by my love of stripes. Eventually, I used clear resin to create shiny pools of color on the top. This was really fun and as the middle school kids like to say, very "satisfying". 
Nothing says original art like the extra little touches of love by the artist.
